Merging the worlds of boxing and football for a cinematic matchday opener

I was brought on as the editor for this high profile opener ahead of the Saudi Pro League’s headline match between Al Nassr and Al Ittihad.

Working closely with the lead producer at IMG, I edited this 2 minute cinematic sequence that blended the energy of boxing with the intensity of football. From pacing to tone, the goal was to heighten anticipation and give the match a sense of narrative and spectacle, reflecting the global spotlight on the SPL.

The piece was delivered under tight deadlines, combining archive, match footage, and stylised effects to create an emotionally charged buildup worthy of two of the region’s biggest teams.
